Liamantra is the rap, poetry and spoken word alias of Bristol (UK) based artist, musician, producer and audio engineer Liam Anthony Reynolds.

Inspired as much by poetry and literature as the technical lyricism and social conscience of hip hop acts including Nas, Jehst, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, The Roots and Wu-Tang Clan, Liamantra is taking the rhythmic word back to first principles.

Debut single ‘Left Destitute’, an excoriating indictment of the UK’s political situation penned in 2019 from the heart of the housing crisis, was finally released on Bandcamp and shared to a limited audience to coincide with the 2024 UK general election.

Follow-up ‘The New True North’, released in January 2025 to coincide with the US presidential inauguration, expanded his lyrical focus worldwide, experimenting with progressive elements and staccato cadences in place of its predecessor's dark boom bap style.

With no intention of pigeonholing himself as a political artist, Liam will be releasing spoken word piece ‘Circles To Infinity’ and third single ‘Mantra’ in late 2025, turning inward to examine what it takes to live a life of fulfilment in the face of chronic internal and external struggles.

Unencumbered by trends, unbound by genre norms, unafraid to speak to power and to confront the darker side of humanity, and unwavering in the sense of hope underpinning even the bleakest writings, this project is just getting started.

Raised in a musical family, Liam was always fascinated by music and sound. With an aptitude for language, keyboard and guitar beyond his age, Liam displayed the hallmarks of a natural born artist. His progress was however stalled by a severe OCD diagnosis at 13, and his calling was consumed.

What followed was a battle over decades to reclaim it in the face of relentless setbacks, in which he added production, DJing and rapping to his skillset, culminating in the 2024 founding of Allium Sound, the DIY imprint for all his forthcoming creative works across wildly varying genres.
